Civil Engineering is a field of continuous practice, putting innovative ideas into reality. Since ancient times, Civil Engineering has looked toward the betterment of community by providing various aspects of livelihood. The field consists of working in the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and management of structures and public works, as well as private constructions. It deals with the construction of buildings, bridges, roads, railways, structures, water supply and sewer systems, irrigation, power, and environment โ the root of every engineering discipline that follows, for the betterment of society.
With the goal of creating quality civil engineers, the branch was established to impart skill-based knowledge and improve the proficiency of budding engineers through industrial training, expert lectures, project work, and industrial visits โ with a vision of helping students build skills in software such as AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, STAAD Pro, and Revit.
With the rapid growth of industrialization, there has been a serious harmful effect on the community. Population growth and urbanization have brought new problems in urban planning, such as water supply, waste disposal, transportation, and global warming. There is a need for value-based education to overcome these problems in infrastructural development, and to build tomorrow's healthy, pollution-free India. Beyond the negative aspects of development, civil engineers must work together with morals, ethics, knowledge, and unity to build a good nation.
Many pass-out students are working at various positions in industry, government, and the education sector in India and abroad.
